It's always scary when you're involved in a car accident, isn't it? And for those of you who have never been involved in one, take our word for it, it sucks somethin' fierce.

Now, typically, when you're involved in a car crash, you're in a car. Can you even imagine being involved in a car crash and being in your house? Now, can you imagine being in a car crash in your home more than once?

That's exactly what keeps happening to one Maine couple.

According to an article published by WGME 13, a couple in the small town of Hartland, Maine, has had their home hit by different vehicles on multiple occasions, and now they say they are scared that it may happen again.

The news station reported that neighbors near the Hartford intersection said that drivers have run the stop sign twice this year, crashing directly into the home of Herbert and Marilyn Stevens.

WGME said that about a year ago, a vehicle came sailing across the intersection and crashed into their bathroom.

Just a couple of months ago, a different vehicle did the same thing but crashed into the corner of their house, the news station noted.

Marilyn Stevens said in part about one of the incidents to WGME,

"We were sitting here talking. And all of a sudden, there was a big bang. I looked at him and said, 'What's that?' And he goes 'You know what that was.' We got up and went out and looked. And it was an SUV on its side in our shed."

Though the town has recently put up flashing lights at the intersection, some residents have indicated their desire for a steel barrier to help protect the homes at the intersection.
