Maine Urgent Care Abruptly Closing Later This Month

Startling news for residents of Lewiston, Maine, and the neighboring areas has been confirmed: the widely visited urgent care center is unexpectedly shutting its doors.

We had heard mumblings of Maine Urgent Care's closure, so a quick call to a staff member confirmed that they are indeed closing their doors on January 12, 2024.

Additionally, the staff member revealed that this information is newly received, as they themselves had just recently become aware of it.

Maine Urgent Care is located on 685 Sabattus Street in Lewiston. They closed their Topsham location back in September of 2022 to consolidate with Lewiston, according to their website. 

They were founded in 2018 and have been serving the area since. This is a walk-in clinic and is partnered with Central Maine Healthcare.

Having personally visited the facility before, I was struck by the substantial number of people that were there which to me, indicates their big impact on many families each day.

The news of Maine Urgent Care closing with little notice will certainly come as a shock to the community. At this moment, the reasons behind the closure remain unknown to me, but will be on the look out for any press releases or official announcements.
