Puff Puff Pass: This is Maine's Highest City

Okay, let's start out by saying that according to Total Cannabis Dispensaries, there are 198 weed shops in Maine.

I'd also like to add that this article is not based on any official data. It's my official brain data that I am pulling from, which is completely opinion-based. So you may agree or disagree with me.

I drive a lot for work, visiting so many beautiful cities and meeting so many beautiful people. Throughout my travel around Central Maine and beyond, I take mental notes on certain shops and food spots. But I can't help but noticing all of the dispensaries.

It's a quirky game I play with myself, seeing just how many pot shops I can spot in each city. I feel like every day, I see another pot leaf sign on so many of our Main Streets.

Now, one would assume that a big city like Portland, Maine, would have the most dispensaries, but that is not where we are headed today, folks.

It's the Lewiston/Auburn Area. Yes, from my perspective, these twin cities seem to be busting at the seams with cannabis shops. It seems like every time I hit the road, they're popping up everywhere I look.

I went onto the popular Weedmaps site and located the map for the area, and you can see for yourself that the cities have a very high amount of dispensaries.

I am officially declaring in my unofficial position that Lewiston/Auburn is the highest city in Maine. However, if you disagree, I welcome your brain data as well. We're all about peace and love, homies.

Since the state of Maine has legalized the sale of cannabis, this industry has boomed!

After the infamous November 2016 vote where Maine opted to legalize recreational cannabis, dispensaries in Maine gained the green light to sell these once-outlawed products as of October 9, 2020, according to Wikipedia.

Additionally, according to an article published by Colby News, sales of medical cannabis in Maine reached $266 million in 2020, as reported by Maine Revenue Services.

This went above and beyond the sales of both potatoes and blueberries, Maine's most popular products!

A headline from that same year in the Portland Press Herald said, "Marijuana has become Maine's most valuable crop,"
