On this Halloween day, as we collectively strive to heal, we find ourselves thinking about what the best destination for our children's trick-or-treating adventures will be.

As a mother, my nerves still linger like many of you because of the residual trauma from the recent tragedy we've endured.

Bates College is an integral part of our very close-knit Lewiston community. It's not a separate world but instead, a valuable presence that involves our city as a whole.

And tonight they are inviting friends and neighbors to take part in some Halloween fun!

According to their Facebook, they are hosting a trick or treat event tonight. They would love you to bring your kids by from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. The fun will begin on Frye Street and White Street and then will move over to the main campus.

All kiddos must accompanied by an adult, as per the post.

Check out Bates College on Facebook for more details. Have a safe and happy Halloween.
