Portland’s Old Port Just Got a New Cocktail Bar With Handcrafted Drinks, Charcuterie and Classic Movies

Portland’s Old Port recently welcomed a new spot for cocktails, charcuterie, and late-night drinks. The Teal Duck, a cocktail bar located at 8 Exchange Street, has officially opened its doors in the former Portland Bar and Bites space.

According to WCYY, the newly renovated 1,800-square-foot bar offers a mix of bar, table, and booth seating for around 70 guests. Adding to the atmosphere, classic movies will be played on the back wall of the bar, giving guests something to watch while enjoying cocktails, food, and conversation.

Handcrafted Cocktails

Owner Brandon James Allegue and his team have created a drink menu centered around handcrafted house cocktails, alongside draft beer and wine available by the glass or bottle. One standout cocktail is the Big Sexy World, made with rum, fig syrup, lime juice, and clarified with rhubarb and strawberry yogurt, a creative combination that reflects the bar’s playful approach to cocktails.

Charcuterie and a Laid-Back Atmosphere

Guests looking for something to pair with their drinks can choose from a selection of meat and cheese boards. The combination of charcuterie, inventive cocktails, comfortable seating, and classic movies gives The Teal Duck a distinctive atmosphere for an evening in the Old Port.

The Teal Duck is open Monday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., making it a new option for both after-work cocktails and late-night drinks in downtown Portland.
