The bill is to help shift SNAP aka food stamps, away from things like soda, candy, chips, let's just call a spade a spade... junk food! 

Instead, it’ll support more healthy foods.  

The report says, according to the Senator, 

"Prohibit SNAP funds from being used to purchase sodas, snack foods, and dessert items, including potato chips, snack cakes, and brownie mixes.

Limits beverage purchases to water, cow’s milk, healthy dairy alternatives, and 100% fruit or vegetable juice."

What do you think about this?  

Well, let me fill you in on the goal, according to Paul this is to help families get healthier meals, not take food away.

As per the report, this will let’s states decide what additional items should be restricted by giving the decision to them saying, 

"Empowers states to restrict additional foods they deem unhealthy, restoring local control and removing federal barriers to innovation in public health policy."

And of course, there are some things about this that will be complicated.
