This Enchanting Holiday Walk Through the Maine Woods Is Illuminated by Thousands of Colorful Lights
If you’re searching for a holiday outing that feels fresh and different from the usual light displays, there’s a spot in Maine you’ll want to put on your list. Tucked away in Lebanon is NyteWalk, an illuminated trail that turns a simple nighttime walk in the woods into something that feels straight out of a storybook.
NyteWalk’s, Wynter Nytes, stretches for a full mile, and the entire trail is lit by tens of thousands of LED, black, and flood lights. As you make your way through the woods, the trees glow in all kinds of vibrant colors, lanterns line the path, and bright tunnels pull you forward. Along the way, you’ll spot elven structures, elf and fairy homes, and other little surprises tucked among the trees. Neon mushrooms pop up throughout the trail, giving the forest a cool, otherworldly look that people of all ages really enjoy seeing.
The whole experience is built to feel festive and fun, with music playing throughout the walk, making it an easy family favorite. There’s even a free interactive photo scavenger hunt, which keeps kids busy and gives everyone a reason to explore the trail a little more closely.
