If you’ve ever been curious about the construction process of one of Maine’s most important bridges, now you can watch it all happen live!

This is all thanks to a webcam set up by the Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT).

There's just something so enticing about watching something so massive and integral to our state's travel being constructed. This is 2024 after all and we all love how things are made and it also gives us a sense of connection to the process.

You can get a front-row seat to the ongoing construction of the Ticonic Bridge. The bridge is located on Route 201 over the Kennebec River at the Waterville-Winslow town line.

Where to watch the live construction of the Ticonic Bridge

According to Maine.gov, this bridge has been a part of the area for over a century. It is a piece of history that has connected people and provided travel for so many years now. It is now being replaced with a new, modern bridge.

You can watch LIVE HERE.

The new design has a two-span, steel girder bridge with a concrete deck. A single concrete pier will be built in the river to support the new bridge, according to Maine.gov.

The goal is to replace the old structure because parts of it are more than 100 years old.

The MDOT will close the Ticonic Bridge, starting January 6, 2025, for about six months as part of a bridge replacement project, as per the site.
