Northern Maine Braces for the Season’s First Flurry of Snow
I've definitely seen flakes on my birthday before.
I have a mid-October birthday. So if I'm seeing snow flying anywhere in my vicinity, I wince. It's just too dang early. No one should have to look at snow before Halloween. And you know, for most of Maine that's not really an issue. Often, tons of places won't even see any real snow until after the holidays.

But up in Northern Maine, things are just different. Not only does the snow start earlier there than everyone else, it hangs out a lot longer too. Sometimes in spots up in the County, you'll still see spots of snow well into May, approaching June! Sadly for County folk, this year isn't looking much different.
The flakes are gonna fly this weekend in the County.

There was also the summer that never happened back in 1816. A cataclysmic volcanic explosion basically caused an ongoing winter. There was snow falling in June that year.
