Ruby Tuesday In Brewer Permanently Closed
Sad news for fans of Ruby Tuesday restaurants; What started as a "temporary" closure has become permanent, it seems.
For the past few months, the Ruby Tuesday at 5 Walton Drive in Brewer has been closed down. Signs on the door mentioned a temporary closure, but that status has changed.
According to the restaurant's website, that location is now permanently closed.
In its heyday, Maine had 10 Ruby Tuesday locations, including one inside the Bangor Mall. That restaurant closed in 2016, and the space has remained eerily empty since that time.

With the recent closure of the Presque Isle location, and this week the one in Brewer, only one Ruby Tuesday remains open in the state: the one in Waterville.
According to sources online, the American restaurant chain started in the 1970s and had close to one thousand stores nationwide by the early 2000s. But just 20 years later, the company filed for bankruptcy, and fewer than 200 restaurants now remain.

Other local restaurant chains like Margaritas and The Ground Round have closed their doors over the past 2 years; other eateries have either set up shop or have plans to, in their place.
There's no word on what the organization plans to do with the buildings in Presque Isle or Brewer or with the Waterville location, for that matter. We will have to wait and see what comes.
