On June 5, a driver backed into a house on Jefferson Street in Auburn, Maine, causing major damage. What's worse, the driver fled from the scene of the accident. However, police K-9s are very good at finding people.

The Auburn Police Department shared a video of a 2013 Hyundai Sonata that backs across the lawn of one home and then collides with a second home next door, causing significant damage to it. You can see the full video at this link on the police department's Facebook page. The dog on the porch watched as the car backed up over the lawn and looked very curious about what it was seeing.

The houses above are on Jefferson Street in Auburn, where the crash occurred.  The one that had the video camera rolling as the car backed up over the lawn is on the left, while the house on the right is the one that was struck by the vehicle.

According to police, witnesses said that the female driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot, heading in the direction of Minot Avenue. That's when it was time for the K-9 unit to do what they do best.

This is Brick, and he's a good boy for leading officers to 29-year-old Jordina Nissi of Auburn, found by Brick on Fairview Avenue.

She was charged with Aggravated Criminal Mischief, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, Operating Without a License, and Driving to Endanger. Luckily, no one was injured in the crash.

Nissi found herself in the Androscoggin Jail and will likely face a judge who, I assume, will not be very pleased with her.
