Apparently, regular yoga just isn't enough anymore. We need animals.

And Maine has you covered.

If the idea of doing downward dog while an actual dog watches you sounds fun, wait until you hear about these animal-yoga experiences happening around the state.

1. Goat Yoga in Westbrook

First up, the classic: goat yoga. At Smiling Hill Farm in Westbrook, you can take a beginner friendly yoga class while goats wander around doing what goats do best,  climbing on things, getting into everyone's business and generally being adorable.

And yes, there's time afterward to meet and snuggle the goats!

2. Alpaca Yoga on Westport Island

This one might be my favorite because… alpacas. Lulu's Barn on Westport Island offers outdoor yoga with alpacas hanging around while you stretch. After class, you can meet them, feed them and obviously take approximately 400 pictures for your phone.

3. Horse Yoga in Windham

And if goats and alpacas aren't your thing, you can take your yoga practice to the horses.

Honestly, I don't know if these animals are going to improve my yoga form.

But I DO know I'd be significantly more excited to show up for class.
