Maine residents of Gray are questioning what’s taking place as their local clinic announced an unexpected closure, as per WMTW.

The Gray Family Health Center patients must now find somewhere else to go for care as the clinic puts out a notice they will close on March 6th

This news has come from a letter sent to patients by Central Maine Healthcare, as per the article. Furthermore, the letter did not explain why the clinic is shutting down in March.

However, the letter did give some guidance saying that Dr. Amy Bergeron and Dr. Maju Hilary will move to Topsham Family Medicine after the closure. The article goes on to say that they will continue seeing their already existing patients. Dr. Ben Slocum is leaving the clinic and his patients will be assigned to other providers.

Gray Family Health Center Closing in March, Patients Left in the Dark

Central Maine Health hasn’t responded to several requests for comment. If you are a patient and need support or help to transition the clinic gives this number to call: 207-657-3308, as per the article.

This newest closure is part of a larger trend affecting several healthcare facilities in that state of Maine within a few short years..

Other clinics that have unexpectedly shut there doors include, Brunswick Family Practice, Aurora Healthcare and Houlton Community Health Center satellite.  And the most recent, Northern Light Health closed it’s Waterville location just this past year..

Some of the closures were cited due to staff shortages or financial issues, but Gray has yet to give us an answer.

But for the patients in Gray and the towns close-by, this recent closure truly lets us know that we must be prepared and always stay informed on local healthcare options.
