Super Bowl Bet Between Maine Friends Ends With Joey Going “Old Man” Bald Until Summer
Matt Powell and Joey Bennett have been best friends for more than 30 years, Lewiston born and bred. They’re the kind of good ol’ boys who still seal a deal with a spit-and-shake and actually mean it.
You know, gentlemen’s bets. Handshake agreements. No contracts, just honor, their word and probably a Bud Light nearby.
They honestly give off Peaky Blinders energy… minus the crime, and the illegal gambling rings. You know, just two Maine bros with loyalty, rivalry, and a code of ethics they follow down to the letter.
Thirty Years of Friendship and One Bold Bet
Like brothers, they’ve been pulling pranks on each other before Impractical Jokers was even a thing. And this football season is no different.
Joey has been a lifelong Indianapolis Colts fan, while Matt has proudly rooted for the New England Patriots, even when Matt was stationed with the Marines and Joey served in the Navy, they never stopped cheering for their teams
Here's where the deal comes in...
With the Colts sitting at 7–1 and the Pats at 5–2 early in the season, the two made a deal: if the Patriots ended up better, Joey would shave his head in a “old man” style and then keep it bald until July 4. If the Colts stayed on top, Matt would go bald instead.
Then everything changed.
After the bet, the Colts never won another game, that means Joey lost.
Matt grabbed the clippers immediacy, shaved Joey’s head and now he’s rocking a completely bald head.

As per the bet, Joey has to keep his hair like this until July 4th! Not just a trim but full “old man” style, and he’s wearing it fully bald until summer.
For Matt and Joey, here's to another chapter in decades of friendship, laughter and impractical jokes.
In Maine, where football loyalty runs deep, sometimes the best stories are the ones your friends show you, with their bald heads and ridiculous bets.
