My love for the Bravo show 'Top Chef' just went through the roof upon learning a Mainer will be one of the chefs.

I adore the show Top Chef and have been a fan for all 21 seasons. Season 22 starts on Thursday,  March 13, and will be the most exciting season yet. Not only because they are in Canada for the season, but because Mimi Weissenborn, from Portland, Maine will be trying to win the huge title of Top Chef.

Mainer will make watching 'Top Chef' incredibly exciting

This series, if you have never watched it, is remarkable. 15 new chefs will compete for a huge prize pack of $250,000 provided by Saratoga Spring Water and a $125,000 flight credit to spend on travel with Delta Air Lines. Plus, the winner will get a feature in Food & Wine Magazine and make an appearance at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen. And for the very first time in Top Chef history, the first-place finisher will also headline a dinner at the James Beard House in New York City and have the chance to present at The James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards in Chicago, Illinois! And our very own Mimi (Shef) could walk away the winner!

Who is Mimi Weissenborn from Portland, Maine?

Mimi comes to Maine via Maryland with stops in NYC where she perfected her craft. She is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and fell in love with Maine. She is obsessed with pine trees and despite being 'from away' she's as Maine as it gets. She goes by Shef and makes it her goal to serve and be part of an inclusive community. She is the executive chef of Sur Lie (Portland) and Gather (Yarmouth) and the perfect Mainer to kick butt in Top Chef.

Put it on your calendar to watch Top Chef with Mainer Mimi Weissenborn (Shef) starting March 13, 2025
