79 Year Old New Hampshire Resident Speaks Out About Plows Piling Snow Against Her Home
Winter comes with snow. Snow comes with removal and plows are the ones that do it. Every year, we expect some frustration surrounding plows but mostly, we all understand they are doing their job and without them, we wouldn’t be able to go anywhere.
However, one New Hampshire resident says winter is bringing more then just snow, it’s bringing piles of it stacked up against her house, according to Seacoast.
Paula Chalfin is 79 years young and has lived in her historic Middle Street home in Portsmouth for over 12 years now, as per the article.
Each year something happens to her home and she’s speaking out. It’s reported that snowplows routinely push the snow from the road directly against her home.
Now, Paula completely understands that her house sits close to the street and also knows plows have a job to do, but she says repeated buildup has become frustrating.
Snowplows Leave Portsmouth Home Buried
After each storm, she goes out, shovels, clears, and prays and moments later the plows push the snow against her house again. The large banks of snow block walkways and crowd the entire side of her home, making it hard to get around.

Paula has seen many snow storms and maybe in a case like this, we help her out?
“I’ve dealt with this every winter,” she said, adding that she wishes there were a better solution.
She also lives in a home that is part of Portsmouth's historic charm so she takes great pride in maintaining it.
She is hoping by speaking out, the city will consider a tiny adjustment in plowing to help protect homes like hers without affecting anyone's safety on the road.
This has struck a cord with others who feel the frustration of plows during the winter.
