If you’ve been waiting for that “okay, it finally feels like spring in Maine” moment… this might be your sign to get outside! The outstanding and beautiful Viles Arboretum just posted that their boardwalk is open again.

If you have yet to experience this lovely little slice of heaven in the capital city of Augusta, you must add it to your list.

It’s one of those hidden gems, as per their site, it's a low-key spot with 224 acres of trails, gardens, and quiet nature. The best part is that this place is completely free!

But this boardwalk, is what makes it feel different than any other arboretum. It winds right through a wetland area, so instead of just walking next to nature, honey, you’re right in the middle of it.

Think water on both sides, kid’s splashing around, early spring birds, and that peaceful feel of good old Maine nature.

And Viles Arboretum isn't just pretty, it’s actually built to make part of that arboretum more accessible, so you don’t have to dodge puddles or commit to a full hiking boot situation just to enjoy it.
