After About 15 Years, Cool as a Moose to Close Its Brunswick, Maine, Location

When a business has been around for years and becomes a staple of the town, it can really come as a surprise when you find out it's going to be no more.

That's certainly the case for Cool as a Moose in Brunswick.

Turns out, after more than 14 years at its Maine Street location, the popular retail store will be closing.

When Is Cool as a Moose Closing Its Brunswick, Maine, Location?

News of Cool as a Moose closing in Brunswick, Maine, initially came from another local store, Hatch on Maine.

That shop shared on Facebook that Cool as a Moose would be closing in the coming weeks, and Hatch on Maine would be moving into the Bar Harbor-based store's spot.

Hatch is leaving its current location at 96 Maine Street and heading to 128 Maine Street.

A call to the Brunswick Cool as a Moose store confirmed that it would be closing by the end of April, though there's not an exact date yet. Additionally, no word if Cool as a Moose will be finding a new location to open somewhere else in the wake of the closure.

Where Is Cool as a Moose Located in Maine?

While it's unfortunate to see a staple business close its doors, thankfully, there are still Cool as a Moose locations in Maine.

According to its website, you can visit the stores in Bar Harbor and Portland if you're looking for those fun moose-based shirts and gear.

Will it be weird to not see the Cool as a Moose sign on the Brunswick location when you're going down Maine Street? Sure.

But it's also just another reminder of how towns change and evolve.
