Peter Geiger would be quick to point out that it's not just a one-man show. That might be true, but he IS the reason this even happens.

Peter, the editor of THE Farmers' Almanac, started handing out king-sized candy bars at his house. One year, when 800 cars wrapped around the streets of his neighborhood, he decided he better move it to Geiger.

That's where he really got to go crazy with decorations and candy. This year more than ever, he wanted kids to have the best experience ever. Mission accomplished. They had 7,000 king-sized candy bars to hand out to some very eager little trick-or-treaters

This was my first year experiencing what the passion of one man can do for a hurting city. People were so grateful that he decided to go ahead with his candy extravaganza. If you said the password of 'Lewiston Strong', you got three king-sized candy bars!

This was great. Everyone was so kind and happy, and it was a very bonding experience. There was no shoving or grabbing, and you know king-sized candy bars might do that to kids, but not here. Peter got there at five in the morning to decorate.

These blow-up ghosts are in front of a 30-foot tower that was lit in Lewiston blue and white.

If it wasn't blown up, it was super creepy!

This fisherman scared me all night. It was apparently quite the catch at Home Depot.

And speaking of witches, thank you Christina from Freeport for bailing me out with a fantastic witches hat, light-up broom, and cool cape! I had purchased something last minute that was for a child. The hat from the costume dented my head. I'm not even kidding. This get-up was way better!

The kids were so cute and the grown-ups were pretty awesome too!

I loved the costumes, and for it being such a chilly night, everyone had a great time! I loved these two from 2005's Corpse Bride movie.

The themed family costumes always get me in the feels.

The line moved so quickly! It truly gave kids and families time to soak up all the Halloween that Peter pours his heart into, all while looking forward to a fantastic sugar high!

Hundreds showed up to Geiger to get their Lewiston love and king-sized candy bars (three for kids, one for adults). But it moved fast! The parking attendants made sure it was safe, and cars went in one way and came out the other. It was super efficient!

People were ready to laugh and feel good

This family was a cow, a horse, a tiny chicken, and then, well, this guy, who made me laugh out loud!

And of course, no Halloween celebration is complete without a dressed-up pet. There were many sweet animals, but this little guy and his hat got my attention.
