My girlfriend Michele and I are big fans of the Portland House of Pizza on Washington Avenue. It first opened in 1988 and startups can be a little slow to kick into gear. But it eventually took off and became so busy they moved down to a larger location with a larger dining room and larger kitchen.

The Portland House of Pizza has an expansive menu, but I always go for the pizza. It's Greek pizza which, according to Wikipedia, is cooked in a metal pan rather than stretched to order and baked on the floor of the pizza oven. It's delicious.

But there's a very popular pizza that is only available for a limited time at Portland House of Pizza that I need to try. The classic Thanksgiving pizza.

According to Portland House of Pizza's post on November 1, this pizza was their best-selling pizza of the month of November last year and now it's back!

It uses turkey gravy for the sauce, thick sliced turkey pieces covered in cheese and topped with their own stuffing. It goes into the oven and when it comes out, the cranberry sauce goes on. Tah da! The Thanksgiving pizza from Portland House of Pizza.

A couple of things to keep in mind with this amazing pizza. The cranberry sauce is only put on the pizza for dine-in orders. For to-go or delivery orders, you'll get the cranberry sauce on the side.

Also, this is a limited-time menu item that is only available for November, so make sure you don't miss out.
