Donn Fendler's incredible true story which became a book has finally made its way to the big screen.

"Lost on a Mountain in Maine" is set to come to theaters on November 1, 2024, and the trailer for the movie has been released.

It offers a first look at the survival story of 12-year-old Fendler in the Maine wilderness, revealing gripping visuals and emotional character moments throughout.

Take a look at the movie trailer below:

Blue Fox Entertainment's YouTube page states the movie is inspired by the book of the same name and "tells the amazing true story of a 12 year old boy that got separated from his family during a fast moving storm while on a treacherous hike on Maine's largest mountain peak."

And you definitely get that from the trailer.

There are shots of a looming mountain, almost ominous, with Donn's father talking about a treacherous hike up Mount Katahdin.

The "Lost on a Mountain in Maine" story is one many Mainers have connected with and one many read when they were younger in school. It's a classic Maine novel and an amazing story in and of itself.

And from the trailer, it looks like Donn's remarkable journey will be on full display from battling hunger and exhaustion to navigating the dangerous elements and more.

Surprised to see Sylvester Stallone, the one and only Rocky, as a producer on the movie?

According to a comment on one of the Lost on a Mountain Facebook page's posts, the Hollywood star makes movies "about underdogs who overcome the odds against them and Donn fits that role."

Some of the people who saw the movie's premiere in July have already expressed their positive responses to the movie on the Lost on a Mountain in Maine Facebook page:

"Excellent, excellent, excellent… Very, very proud of this film and those who created this tribute to a great man."

"Wonderfully portrayed Donn’s 9 day journey."

"The film was Donn’s story, as it should be. An incredible story of survival, to 'press on'. It brought us all to tears (and we knew the ending, read the book and met Don in person multiple times!). Amazing actors, cinematography, soundtrack and screenplay!"

Are you looking forward to seeing the movie when it comes out?
