Check Out These Great Restaurants Worth Visiting in Central & Northern Maine

One of my favorite things to do is hop in the car and drive around the state looking for new spots to eat.

My wife and I have gone hours out of our way just because of a good review, a random tip, or something we saw on social media. It’s always an adventure — and we’ve never been disappointed when it comes to the food, especially not in this state.

Maine is a Wonderful Destination for Foodies

While touring Maine, we’ve eaten at iconic diners, great pubs, outstanding sandwich shops, classic cafés, and delicious pizza parlors. The Pine Tree State is not lacking when it comes to great places to enjoy a meal.

And that includes plenty of spots not named Portland — or even in Southern Maine at all.

While those areas may get the most attention, it should absolutely be pointed out that the entire state is killing it in the culinary department.

With that in mind, I thought it’d be fun to highlight some of Maine’s best restaurants outside the southern part of the state — places that not only serve amazing food but also offer exceptional service and a welcoming atmosphere.
