Writing about Maine's food scene never gets old, and that's because it's consistently among the best you'll find anywhere. And no, I don't think that's exaggerating.

I've spent time in several parts of the country, but few places can match the Pine Tree State when it comes to fresh, local ingredients, creative cuisine, and exceptional hospitality. Nowhere is that more evident than in Portland, where the dining scene continues to impress locals and visitors alike.

How Great is Portland, Maine, as a Foodie City?

While the state is loaded with regions of culinary bliss, the one that gets the most love is Portland. It’s not hyperbole to say it has it all. The food scene in the Forest City is exemplary. Whether it’s breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, or late-night snacks, Portland stands shoulder to shoulder with the best of them (though, to be fair, we need way more late night spots).
