Two of the things I love most are spending time in Portland and traveling.

The problem is, those two things don’t exactly go together.

If I’m traveling, I’m not in Portland. And if I’m in Portland, I’m obviously not traveling. So how do I make both work? Well, with a little help from our future enemy friend, Artificial Intelligence.

Who isn't scared to death doesn’t love a little AI in our lives? I mean, sure, it’ll probably take over the world and enslave us all at some point, but until then, we might as well take advantage of it, right?

I was dying to know what it thought were some of the most similar cities to our Portland, cities that are coastal, have great food, beautiful scenery, wonderful culture, and just that cool vibe we’re so lucky to have here.

I must say, ChatGPT came up with quite a list, one I was genuinely impressed by. The AI kicked out 10 cities from around the world that it said compare extremely well to Portland.

Some of these cities are quite close, including the one ChatGPT says is the most similar: Halifax, Nova Scotia. Others are thousands of miles away but still strong contenders to be considered Portland’s global twins.
