Massachusetts Has the Most Expensive High School in the U.S.A., and It’s Just for Boys
North Brookfield, Massachusetts
Don't think about sending your daughters there, as it's just for boys. But you might not mind that, because the tuition at Valley View School in North Brookfield, Massachusetts, is almost double the average yearly salary in America, coming in at $125,000 per year, according to education.alot.com.
To put that into perspective, Phillips Exeter High School in Exeter, New Hampshire, a world-renowned high school with graduates like author John Irving and Mark Zuckerberg, is about half of that, coming in at about $52,000, according to exeter.edu.
All Kinds of Therapy
While you are recuperating from sticker shock, it should be quickly noted that this school sounds like it is worth every penny.
According to Allkindsoftherapy.com, the school takes boys between the ages of 10 and 15 at the time of enrollment, who may have some issues like anxiety, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, childhood bi-polar and school phobias (I didn't even know there was such a thing as "school phobia").
The boys at the school may also have experienced divorce or other life situations. The staff at Valley View has psychiatrists and other clinicians to cater to each student. According to their website, the school helps boys become "the best versions of themselves."
If every school treated each child with exactly what they needed, they would be so much better equipped to face the world once they are out of school. Unfortunately, money is an issue, especially with this school. Even if the government steps in to pay for the cost, someone, somewhere, has to pay for it. Wouldn't it be great if we could figure that out though?
