It's no secret that we have a loud and proud foodie population here in New England, and with good reason. Our restaurant industry is killing it, and there's never a shortage of new establishments opening their doors to the public. You can never run out of places to visit for your next dining experience, especially in these parts.

New England's cuisine is regularly praised by online food and tourism platforms. TasteAtlas, an "experiential travel online guide", recently shared a list of the 150 most legendary restaurants in the world. These establishments are "destinations in their own right", and,

...all share a commitment to culinary authenticity... Each restaurant holds its own story, preserving its culture, upholding traditions, and creating lasting memories.

Several places in the United States were featured on this prestigious list, including Hyman's Seafood in South Carolina, Katz's Delicatessen in New York, and Mother's Restaurant in Louisiana. But there's one spot that's particularly special, and that's because it's in New England.

Coming in at #35 out of 150 on TasteAtlas' list is Union Oyster House in Boston, Massachusetts.

Situated on the Freedom Trail, the Union Oyster House prides themselves on being the oldest restaurant in both Boston and the nation, as the building dates "back to Pre-Revolutionary days," according to their website.

Since 1826, the restaurant has served classic New England seafood staples including various fried options....

...and of course, lobster, because we couldn't talk about New England seafood without mentioning the iconic crustacean.
