One of the longest running and most popular game shows in America is about to expand its horizons in a very unique way. By going from your television screens directly to a pub near you.

Sony Pictures has announced the launch of 'Jeopardy!' Bar League, a different take of the classic game show that will challenge trivia night fanatics with a new set of questions as well as some intriguing tournaments that could end up landing winners on an actual episode of 'Jeopardy!' with Ken Jennings.

'Jeopardy!' is set to roll out the test version of the bar league game this December. A full roll out of the 'Jeopardy!' Bar League nationwide is expected in 2025. 'Jeopardy!' plans to partner with the national trivia purveyor, Geeks Who Drink, to help bring the new-styled game to the masses.

According to the Geeks Who Drink website, there are only two trivia nights that feature the service in Maine currently. Campfire Grille in Bridgton as well as Camp Pennant in Portland. That could grow if the 'Jeopardy!' Bar League is involved and grows in popularity.

The game itself will operate almost like you're watching a live episode. People's cell phones will serve as their buzzer with real time results, including point totals and standings readily available. But the high stakes will be when Jeopardy rolls out regional and national bar league tournaments.

'Jeopardy!' is hopeful that they'll find the next diamond in the rough to appear on the actual game show with a show at real life money while also creating a new fanbase will to tune in or stream the show consistently.
