Davinci’s to Reopen Defunct Lewiston, Maine, Cocktail Bar

Believe it or not, there isn't a lot of regular change that happens in Lewiston, Maine, when it comes to the restaurant and bar industry.

Lewiston has had many of the same restaurants and bars in place for decades, some lasting several generations.

Occasionally, there are new restaurants or bars that open but many of them find challenges in breaking through the routine and loyalty towards more established names.

There was one speakeasy-style cocktail bar that did seem to breakthrough in Lewiston, Maine, called Sonder & Dram.

It closed in July of 2025 but appears ready for a comeback under new ownership.

Sonder & Dram in Lewiston, Maine, to Reopen With Davinci's Taking Ownership

According to a blurb in the Lewiston Sun-Journal, Sonder & Dram appears to be getting another chance to thrive in the city.

Popular eatery Davinci's has taken ownership of Sonder & Dram and is working through the steps to reopen the cocktail bar.

Sonder & Dram will remain located at 12 Ash Street where it started nearly a decade ago. There is no word as of this writing on menu changes or a specific grand opening date.

Former Sonder & Dram Owners Expansion Didn't Work Out in Lewiston, Maine

Despite Sonder & Dram finding success with its cool aesthetic and craft cocktails, the expansion attempts by ownership likely led to its demise.

in 2023, Bon Vivant opened above Sonder & Dram offering visitors an upscale dining experience in Lewiston, Maine.

18 months after its opening, the restaurant had closed. 6 months after Bon Vivant closed permanently, it was announced Sonder & Dram would follow suit.

Now, the cocktail bar will get a second chance to find its footing.
