Here's a story that's probably only possible here in the great State of Maine.

This week, 43-year-old James R. "Jamie" Simmons pleaded no contest to arson in Maine district court, capping off a years-long proceeding to get to the bottom of an intentionally-set fire back in 2012.

The Knox Village Soup reported that Simmons feuded with a rival lobsterman six years ago, and will face sentencing for his crime in January 2019.

Simmons set fire to a boat shop and lobster boat in June 2012 in Waldoboro.

"The affidavit filed in court at the time by Kenneth MacMaster of the Maine Fire Marshal’s Office states that James Simmons was an immediate suspect in the arson investigation because of an ongoing, escalating feud with Donald Simmons."
