This summer, Maine harvested a bunch of local hops - more than we have in the past 100 years. What does that mean to you? A fresh crop of local hop beers are coming your way! YUM.

Now, local/fresh hopped beers are kind of fun because they are essentially an experiment - they aren't well known to brewers so they have to fiddle around a little bit to figure out how they taste.

The cool part is that, instead of running around trying to find these one-off gems, you can get most of them all in one event - Hoptoberfest.

In'finiti Fermentation & Distillation and The Hop Yard are hosting a fest where you will be able to try beers that are local/fresh hopped from over 14 Maine breweries.

Hoptoberfest Details:

The Hop Yard and In'finiti Fermentation & Distillation invite you to sample 14+ locally brewed beers all made with fresh, Maine grown hops. These beers can only be made once a year when the hop harvest begins, and are brewed only hours after the hops are picked.  The event will be a festival format: $40 includes tax and gratuity, entry to the event, 12 sample pours of your choice in 4 oz servings, and a logoed tasting glass to keep.  Extra samples will be available for $3.50 after the initial 12.  There will be a limited food menu available for purchase, however, the restaurant will not be operating as normal (i.e. no full menu, table service, or other beverages).
