New Italian Take Out Restaurant Opening in Lewiston, Maine
Typically, when you think takeout Italian food in Maine, two names instantly come to mind. That would be Sam's or Amato's. Those two local chains have dominated the Italian takeout marketplace in the state for decades.
Especially so in the Lewiston/Auburn area. Sam's is an institution with more locations in the twin cities than chain restaurants have. But there will be some new competition coming soon as a mom-and-pop shop hopes to bring some authentic tastes of Italy to downtown Lewiston.
Mancini's Italian Deli Set to Open in Lewiston, Maine

That will include everything from a traditional bolognese to a truffle lasagna. Sandwiches like a porchetta pornino to a well-known caprese. Mancini's will even offer desserts on the run, including a panna cotta.
Mancini's Italian Deli Won't Just Be a Take Out Restaurant

According to the Sun-Journal, Mancini's is open to altering their offerings after they see what customers want the most and what customers are asking for them to carry in the future.
Mancini's plans to have their grand opening on Wednesday, Feb 26.
