March In Maine Coming In Like A Stone Cold Freight Train

This has got to be one of the weirdest winters weather wise, that I can remember in my over 50 years of living here. There were above average temps that allowed us to wear just a sweatshirt while frolicking outside. 40 degrees this time of year never makes me mad. Yesterday was a fantastic example of that. Then next thing you know, we're back in the deep freeze.

We've been through it plenty this year and we're about to experience it for what I hope and pray will be the last time. Lately we've been hearing the birdies singing their morning songs. Let's keep that going, shall we? I've got a feeling there will be very little to tweet about on Tuesday.

That Maine winter cold that just punches you right in the face as soon as you step outside, is making a unwelcome return. That's right, March in Maine is coming in not like a lion but more like a stone cold freight train screeching down the tracks.

Here's the latest from our friends at the National Weather Service in Gray warning us of brutal cold with ridiculously powerful subzero wind chills to start the new month.

If your working outside on Tuesday, make damn sure you're bundled up and keep all your skin covered.

The National Weather Service reminds us in the above post that

"Wind chill values as low as 35 below zero may cause frostbite to exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes."

Yikes! Let's avoid that, eh?
