
New Hotel at Thompson’s Point in Portland, Maine, Nears Grand Opening
If you build it, they will come. That's what developers behind a brand new dual-themed hotel are hoping when it comes to Thompson's Point in Portland, Maine.
The last decade has brought significant growth to Thompson's Point. That little nook in Portland, Maine, is now home to the Children's Museum of Maine, the Brick South event center as well as the signature location of Bissell Brothers brewing.
Plus, Thompson's Point has become a destination for concerts and outdoor events during the summer as well as ice skating in the winter.
Now, people who visit Thompson's Point in any season will have a sleep dual-branded hotel to stay in.
The Residence Inn By Marriott in Portland, Maine, Nears Grand Opening
The brand new hotel at Thompson's Point has essentially been completed. Currently, positions at the hotel are being filled and a grand opening date announcement is imminent.

What is unique about this new hotel at Thompson's Point is that is a two-for-one spot.
One half of the hotel will be a Residence Inn by Marriott, offering 70 suites built for extended stays and fully equipped with kitchens, full size appliances and more.
The Marriott website states the Residence Inn will open sometime in the next couple of weeks.
The Moxy Hotel Set For Grand Opening at Thompson's Point in Portland, Maine
The other half of the new hotel at Thompson's Point is branded as a Moxy hotel.

Moxy hotels play to a younger, modern crowd. Guests will check in at the bar, there will be hip communal spaces and the rooms are designed with technology in mind.
There will be 78 available rooms as part of the Moxy hotel.
The Marriott website indicates the grand opening for the Moxy hotel will be in August.
Both brands will share some communal areas in the new building including a 24/7 grab and go market, an indoor pool as well as a fitness center.
