Watch Fans in Buenos Aires Rock Out to 'No Leaf Clover'

On April 30, 2022, Metallica performed "No Leaf Clover" for the first time ever in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Though that was their ninth gig in the capital city, they had never pulled out the S&M tune until this year.

The performance opens with a recorded symphony track before the band enters, and the crowd in Buenos Aires is clearly ready to sing along with "No Leaf Clover." As the song wraps up—without missing a beat, of course—the band tears into "Master of Puppets" before closing out the evening's regular set.

Metallica shocked fans when they brought out "No Leaf Clover"—a brand-new, never-before-heard song—during their performances with the San Francisco Symphony in 1999. Metallica have performed it less than 150 times since debuting it with the symphony on April 21, 1999, in Berkeley, Calif., and it regularly appeared in their setlists for their 2021 shows.

"No Leaf Clover" was released as an official single from the S&M album across the world four different times. The track was recorded live on April 21-22, 1999, at the Berkeley Community Theater and it was produced by Bob Rock, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and the late Michael Kamen.

Not nearly as surprising as its debut in 1999, Metallica performed "No Leaf Clover" with the San Francisco Symphony again in 2020 for their S&M2 performances at the Chase Center in California.
