Fake Maine Town at The Center of New Netflix Series
Every single year, people from all over the world come to visit Maine for scenery, the hospitality and for the food.
There are towns and cities that definitely stand out. From Bar Harbor to Camden to Kennebunkport and of course, Portland.
But if you watch a brand new Netflix series called "I Will Find You" and decide you want to visit that town in Maine. You'll be looking for a long, long time.
A key portion of the series takes places in a fictional town called Briggs, Maine.
'I Will Find You' is Adapted From a Harlen Coben Novel of the Same Name
The premise of 'I Will Find You' centers around a father that is convicted of brutally murdering his young son. Information comes to light five years after his conviction that suggests his son may still be alive.
A key piece of the story takes place in and outside of a prison located in the town of Briggs, Maine.
Like many Harlen Coben novels, there are several wild twists throughout the story, including the portion that takes place in Maine.
As you'll see in the Netflix series, there's an event that takes place that calls for a massive police response. For native Mainers, you'll likely shake your head in disbelief.
How Accurate is The Depiction of Maine in 'I Will Find You'?
Not very. During the large police response scenes, you'll see plenty of police cruisers and uniformed officers. None of them are depicted correctly for what you'd realistically see here in Maine.
In fact, most scenes from 'I Will Find You' that take place in Maine could have taken place anywhere thanks to the generic depiction. The only thing the series truly got correct was the Maine State seal.
However, if you like twisty stories and familiar actors like Sam Worthington and Clancy Brown, 'I Will Find You' on Netflix is a perfect binge-watch.
