One of Halloween Horror Nights’ Haunted Mazes is Inspired by New England This Year
Spooky season is coming up fast, and many places are preparing for it in a variety of ways. There are many ways to enjoy the spooky season in New England, whether it is going to Salem, MA, going to one of the many haunted houses, attending Canobie Lake Park's Screamfest, or more.
Let's stay on the topic of haunted houses though. Why do people really enjoy going through a haunted house, maze, or field? Is it a rush? Do people really want to be scared? Every year, haunted houses get a ton of victims in attendance. One of the biggest haunted attractions is not in New England however.
I am talking about Universal's Halloween Horror Nights. People from around the world fly to California and/or Orlando, FL, to attend one of the biggest Halloween events of the season.
I myself, have attended Halloween Horror Nights for a few years, and even though I find parts of it terrifying, I cannot help but go back. Trust me, I am not a fan of when things jump out at me, I will even jump if someone turns a corner at work and I didn't know that they were there. I may love horror, but I can be scared pretty easily.
Every year, Halloween Horror Nights has 5 scare zones that you walk through while trying to get to one of their 10 haunted houses. One thing that I really enjoy about Halloween Horror Nights, is that they have a good mix of houses, some that are their own original ideas and others that they take from movies, TV shows, or musicians.
This year, one of the original houses making its way to Halloween Horror Nights revolves around New England.
The haunted house is called, "Dead Man’s Pier: Winter’s Wake." Halloween Horror Nights Orlando says that this house will be "In a New England fishing village, undead fishermen emerge from the waves to seek their revenge. You and your scream squad may have escaped their hooks in the scare zone. Now they’ll reel you in and drag you under."
You may be wondering if there is a scare zone this year of the same thing. Unfortunately, there is not, however, they had one called "Dead Man's Wharf" a few years ago. You can find a video of that scare zone below.
As always, I am sure this house will be amazing and probably have quite a few jump scares. Even if it is not the best of the 10 houses that will be at Halloween Horror Nights this year, it is kinda cool that fishermen that are "from" New England will be in a haunted house.
