It might be time to give Westbrook, Maine, a new nickname. The unofficial Asian food capital of Maine has a nice ring to it.

If you don't spend a lot of time in the city of 21,000 residents, you likely don't realize how much Westbrook has embraced their local Asian restaurants.

There's a little taste for everyone. From traditional Cantonese at China Villa to the new Sumo Sushi and Grill featuring hibachi favorites.

There's some new morning options, from the quaint HoneyBoba to the new breakfast stop Wakie Wakie's.

Westbrook is also home to some great Thai restaurants from Bamboo Bistro to Veranda Thai to Lucky Thai Variety.

And soon, there will be another Thai option entering the mix.

Ocha Thai Set For Grand Opening Near Rock Row in Westbrook, Maine

According to Portland Food Map, Ocha Thai will be opening at 100 Larrabee Road in Westbrook, Maine, right next to the Rock Row complex.

Ocha Thai is slated for a grand opening on Monday, February 9. On social media, Ocha Thai has stated that their online ordering system is not quite ready so they encourage people to call the restaurant or walk in.

Ocha Thai will serve traditional Thai dishes as well as a selection of sushi options as well.

Ocha Thai Takes Over The Space Left Behind By Phoever Maine

As one new Asian restaurant opens in Westbrook, Maine, the city has officially said goodbye to another.

That would be Phoever Maine, The Vietnamese restaurant had been a hidden gem in the city. Phoever Maine purchased the old Anania's store on Congress Street in Portland, Maine.

According to the Portland Press Herald, Phoever Maine hopes to open their new location over the next several weeks.
