According to PortlandFoodMap.com, fans of the Old Port stop Amigo's could be in for a surprise this summer, a new 2nd floor deck with views of the ocean. That will depend on whether or not owner Bruce Mills can get final approval to begin work on the project. The proposal for the project outlined the hope that Mills can enhance Amigo's outdoor presence by adding additional outdoor seating for Amigo's restaurant service.

Amigo's has long been a destination for patrons looking for a casual bar atmosphere. Amigo's, located at 9 Dana St. adjacent to the popular Wharf St. in the Old Port, has pool tables, dart boards, arcade games and an outdoor patio for those who enjoying an adult beverage outdoors. Would a 2nd floor deck jeopardize the "feel" of Amigo's?

The project still needs final approval from the City of Portland but if it is given the green light construction is expected to begin as soon as possible. Check out some additional drawings of the proposed 2nd floor deck courtesy of this public document from civicplus.com

Would a 2nd floor deck with water views make you more likely to visit Amigo's?
