An Old Orchard Beach, Maine, Motel is Straight Out of ‘Monopoly’
A good theme is everything.
It's literally the basis for a lot of New Year's Eve parties, birthday parties -- hell, even some "just because" parties.
Then there are the theme restaurants like Rainforest Cafe that literally seat you inside a jungle for a full meal. And of course, almost every escape room ever is based around a theme.
But what about actually living inside of a theme for a short period of time?
Adventure Suites in North Conway, NH
Theme hotels aren't anything new, especially in New England. In fact, one of the most popular theme hotels in New England is in a summer hotspot -- North Conway, New Hampshire, with the Adventure Suites.
From a Haunted Castle to a Sky Captain's Lounge, the theme suites at Adventure Suites transport you into a life you could only dream of living. But, that's not what we're talking about. Because we're talking about channeling your inner Jumanji and living inside of a game.
Marvin Gardens Motel in Old Orchard Beach, Maine
It goes without saying that Old Orchard Beach in general is one of Maine's hot spots in the summertime, and the Pier at Old Orchard Beach is arguably the hottest tourist attraction nevermind in the state on a gorgeous day, but may all of New England.
And while you're driving to the Pier on Saco Avenue, you may not even realize the motel you drive by that seems like it's straight out of Monopoly, except you don't get $200 when passing "GO" at this place.
Because even though it seems like it'd be a full-out theme motel, especially since their sign out front is very similar to the "Title Deed" card for Marvin Gardens in Monopoly, that's literally the extent of the Monopoly theme.
Maybe it's a copyright thing or maybe it's a choice (or maybe a mix of both), but how fun would it be to feel like you're legit living inside of a board game during your OOB getaway?
