It appears that one health food chain in Maine is ready to run it back and try again.

That chain would be Oola Bowls. They ended the month of May by abruptly closing both their Portland and Westbrook locations.

Initially, customers were confused by the closures. There had not been any indication that Oola Bowls was planning to close.

As days lingered on in June, it appeared those temporarily closures were permanent.

Not so fast.

Oola Bowls in Westbrook and Portland, Maine, Set Grand Reopening Dates

Oola Bowls opened their first two locations in Maine late in 2025. The acai bowl market in Maine seemed to be trending upwards.

Oola Bowls still hasn't posted on social media as to why their Westbrook and Portland, Maine, locations have been closed for weeks.

However, if you visit the Oola Bowls website and search their Maine locations, something interesting pops up. A grand reopening date.

The Oola Bowls in Westbrook, Maine, plans to reopen on Saturday, June 27.

The Oola Bowls in Portland, Maine, plans a grand reopening on Monday, June 29.

Will Oola Bowls Find Their Footing in Westbrook and Portland, Maine?

Both the Westbrook and Portland locations of Oola Bowls have struggled with staffing since their grand openings. That lack of staffing has led to long wait times on simple orders causing frustration.

That is especially true in Westbrook, where competitor Playa Bowls is fully staffed and quickly fulfills orders.

It remains to be whether Oola Bowls can find their footing against stiff competition with increased staffing and the ability to churn out orders more efficiently.
