Oxford Hills High School Gets Solar Powered Charging Stations For Your Electronic Car
If you drive an electric car you probably have the app which tells you where the closest charging station is. That's exactly how YouTuber bmhsonic stumbled on finding out that Oxford Hills High School has a solar powered charging station.
The new charging station sits at the entrance to the parking lot, and will be gathering the energy from the sun and storing it for the charging of electric cars.
The solar tracker will follow the sun throughout the day. It can tilt its panels as the sun rises and sets and can also move from side to side as the seasonal position of the sun changes. There are three charging plugs, one for Tesla vehicles and two for other electric cars and hybrids. And yes, it's free for the public to use!
The charging station is also configured to provide electricity for the school during those times when no vehicle charging is happening.
