Party Like a Hall of Famer With Red Sox Stars Pedro Martinez and Jason Varitek
This time of year always makes me nostalgic for that first Red Sox World Series of our lifetimes. In 2004, the Red Sox were lucky to have not one, but two aces on the team. Curt Schilling and the incomparable Pedro Martinez were the anchors to the Red Sox pitching staff.
There were so many memories during that magical playoff run, between Schilling's bloody sock, Big Papi's late night heroics, and Pedro's unhittable changeups, the team was destined to break the Curse of the Bambino – and they did.
Years later, Martinez had the honor of being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.
Imagine getting a chance to sit and talk about those golden years of Red Sox baseball with some of the most important contributors on the World Champion team? Names like Pedro Martinez and Jason Varitek will join a list of former and current big leaguers at a fundraiser Friday night at the Colonnade Hotel on Huntington Avenue in Boston.
This is Pedro's fifth annual gala to raise money for the Pedro Martinez Foundation, a charity that focuses on improving the lives of "at risk" children in both the United States and the Dominican Republic.
There will be a custom three-course dinner, passed appetizers, music, and a chance for you to mingle with some of the biggest names in baseball history.
Tickets to the gala are available by clicking here. Most of the ticket levels are sold out, but there are a few left. Every penny raised Friday night will go directly towards helping those underprivileged children.
