The Best Love Stories Are Unexpected

There's an old saying that goes something like, "Don't go looking for love. Wait and let love come to you." Or there's, "Love will come when you least expect it." And I think there's something to those old sayings. The best love stories are complete accidents. Random occurrences. Right place right time sort of things. Call it destiny, fate, or pure coincidence.

Thanks to Craigslist, one of those stories could be unfolding right now.

Apartment Party: September 11, 2021

Nothing like a late summer party on a Saturday night in Maine. That's what was happening in Poland where two singles happened to share a very special and very unique evening. An evening that has left readers with a number of questions.

Missed Connection

One of the two individuals involved in this tale took to Craigslist to try and find their counterpart from their party adventures. Under the "Missed Connections" section of the site can be found: We Shared a Bear Suit and it says the following,

We shared a bear suit at an apartment party on Saturday night. I asked for your number and you gave it to me, but somehow I don't have an area code written down. I had a great time talking with you, and I don't trust Chance enough to wait until I see you in the elevators.

Questions, Answers, and Speculation

While this story is still unfolding these questions still need answers. Who are these people? Did he/she purposely leave off the area code? Was this bear suit shared as in they wore it one at a time or was this costume like that of a horse where one individual stood in the front and the other in the back? Why was this costume even present at the party? Whose costume is it? Is this a euphemism that I don't understand?

My only real assumption here is that this couple is aged 45+ simply because most people these days would offer up Instagram handles or send a Facebook request before sharing a number. But what do I know?

It also seems clear that these two individuals live in the same apartment building thanks to the elevator comment and to that I say to the guy/gal posting, patience! You'll run into them soon enough. Best of luck to you and your bear-friend.
