Say goodbye to Palladia and say hello to MTV Live starting Monday February 1st. Viacom, the parent company of Palladia as well as MTV has given no additional details as to why the rebranding is occurring.

There will be some new programming hitting the airwaves with the rebranding however. That will include some of the best live performances that were featured on PBS' popular show Austin City Limits. Additionally, MTV Live will air episodes of the critically acclaimed concert series known as Front and Center. The show features intimate live performances from up and coming as well as established artists.

As of now, it appears MTV Live will be keeping some of Palladia's most popular shows. Live From Daryl's House and Later...With Jools Holland are part of the spring program line up. That Metal Show, recently canceled by VH-1 Classic, does not appear to be getting a second chance as part of MTV Live's programming.

Palladia ended up being a surprise hit for Viacom when it debuted in 2008. Airing mostly old concert footage from massive festivals as well as music videos, Palladia's popularity began to skyrocket when it started airing programs that hadn't previously been seen in the U.S.
