Popular NHL Mascot Gritty To Appear At Maine Mariners Game

Gritty, the now hugely popular mascot of the Philadelphia Flyers is coming to Portland. The Maine Mariners announced that Gritty will be joining the official mascot of the Mariners, Beacon the Puffin, for the game against the Reading Royals on Monday, November 11th at the Cross Insurance Arena.

When Gritty was introduced to fans prior to the 2018-2019 season, the mascot was initially met with some criticism. But that criticism was quickly swept aside by fascination and Gritty's social media presence went viral. Gritty easily has the most followers of any NHL mascot on both Twitter and Instagram.

The Mariners are offering exclusive and limited ticket packages that will include a meet and greet with Gritty. Additionally, there will some special collector's items available to commemorate Gritty's appearance in Portland.

Gritty's appearance at the Cross Insurance Arena is scheduled for Monday, November 11th.
