The masters of nerd rock, and I say that lovingly, are finally coming back to Maine.

Welcome back to Maine, Weezer. It has been way too long since you graced us here in the Pine Tree State. The iconic band will be hitting up the Maine Savings Ampitheater in Bangor for a performance on Friday, June 30.

The Bangor show will be part of Weezer's Indie Rock Road Trip. The tour, which starts in June and goes through mid-September, will include many supporting acts, including Modest Mouse, White Reaper, Momma and many others. Weezer's Bangor show will be supported by Joyce Manor and Future Islands.

This will be Weezer's first trip back to Maine since playing Portland's Maine State Pier (yes, that used to be a thing) back in 2015. According to setlist.fm, this will be the band's first ever trip to Bangor.

Weezer first gained notoriety with its near perfect Blue Album that was released in 1994. It included the massive hits "Buddy Holly" and "Say it Aint So."

The band took a brief from hiatus from 1997 until 2001, following the release of their second (and best) album. Since then, Weezer has been banging out albums and touring the world as one of the premier groups in their genre.

Lately, the group gained massive attention for an entire album of rock covers of songs from a variety of genres, including Toto's "Africa" and TLC's "No Scrubs." It's an extremely entertaining album done perfectly well by Rivers Cuomo and the Weezer boys. I highly recommend it.

Tickets for the Bangor show will be available pre-sale on Wednesday, March 1, with the general public getting access on Friday, March 3.

This is going to be one heck of a show. I can't wait until June 30.
