Rick Porcello was strong on the hill, Christian Vazquez was full of energy behind the plate and it all helped the Red Sox beat the Blue Jays 5-3 Friday night.

Porcello went 6.1 innings, giving up just two hits. Both were Edwin Encarnacion hone runs. Porcello struck out eight and walked just one.

Vazquez spent his first game back with the Sox as the team sent Blake Swihart back to Pawtucket. Vazquez went 2-for-4, picked off a runner at first base and seemed to bring a bounce to the whole team.

Travis Shaw drove in two of the Sox runs. Mookie Betts, Dustin Pedroia and David Ortiz had the other RBI.

The Sox are now 5-4 with three more games of this Patriots Day weekend.
