
Can’t-Miss Themed Nights at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine, This Season
Baseball season has arrived and for people in Portland, Maine, that means a trip to see the Sea Dogs play at Hadlock Field.
The lure of a Sea Dogs game is different for everyone. Pure baseball fans may visit to see the Boston Red Sox stars of tomorrow. Some visit Hadlock Field for their favorite foods, including a scrumptious Sea Dog Biscuit. Others want to take part in the fun of the park, Slugger the Sea Dog and whatever themes the Portland Sea Dogs have up their sleeve.
Speaking of themes, here are some of the truly can't-miss themed nights at Hadlock Field for 2025.
April 27: Halloween at the Park
Who says you can't get spooky in April? Fans are encouraged to dress up and arrive early to the park for a parade, some trick-or-treating and a photo op with the Ghostbusters.
May 7: Slugger's Birthday Celebration
Slugger never ages but Slugger still celebrates a birthday. Slugger will be joined by some of best mascot friends for what should be an evening filled with plenty of fun and games for everyone.
June 6: Maine Whoopie Pies
One of the Sea Dogs alter-egos returns this season as the Sea Dogs will once again become the Maine Whoopie Pies for one game only. Fans can also devour a selection of whoopie pies at the concession stands throughout the park.
June 21: Maine Bean Suppahs
Just like with the Whoopie Pies, a past alter-ego shows up again in the form of the Maine Bean Suppahs. A Saturday night in New England calls for a great bean supper, even at the ballpark.
June 22: Pirate and Princess Day
Skip the high seas and instead dress your child up like a pirate or princess and show up to the park early for a pregame tea party as well as a pirate parade to kick off the game.
July 5: Maine Red Snappahs
Another classic alter-ego will be revisited at the Sea Dogs transform into the Maine Red Snappahs. Celebrate America's independence by devouring an iconic Maine hot dog and catching a game at Hadlock.
July 6: Scooby-Doo Day
The Mystery Machine will arrive at Hadlock Field as fans are encourage to dress up as their favorite Scooby-Doo character. Will there by mysteries to solve? Will Slugger make a new friend? Will Shaggy and Scooby eat everything?
July 12: Marvel Superhero Day
Marvel Superhero Day returns in 2025 with fans once again encouraged to dress up as their favorite Marvel superhero. There will be a pregame parade of heroes and the first 1,000 fans through the gate receive a complimentary Marvel comic book.
July 30: Hadlock School of Magic
Slugger is prepared to cast spells with any wizards or muggles who care join. Fans are encouraged to dress up in their best wizarding gear with the best costumed individual getting a chance to throw out the first magical pitch of the game.
August 2: Maine Candlepins
Candlepin bowling has been a Maine tradition for decades and the Sea Dogs will honor that by transforming into the Maine Candlepins for one game only in 2025.
August 16: Star Wars Night
One of the best themed nights of the year is Star Wars night. The Sea Dogs will be wearing custom jerseys that will be auctioned off, there will be Star Wars themed games, prizes and more throughout the evening and of course, fans are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Star Wars characters from this galaxy or beyond.
August 20: 90's Night
Time to take it back a few decades, preppy! The Sea Dogs celebrate the 90's with a concert from Hello Newman as well as 90's themed games, prizes and more throughout the evening.
August 24: Bluey Day
Take a trip down under as Bluey invades Hadlock Field for one day only. There will be more information about Bluey day released at a later date.
September 5: Maine Lobster Bakes
The Sea Dogs will play as one final alter-ego as they celebrate one of Maine's biggest industries and transform into the Maine Lobster Bakes for one game only.
September 6: Fan Appreciation Day
It will be a Field of Dreams on Fan Appreciation Day as the Sea Dogs will walk out of the cornstalks and adorn custom throwback jerseys. The players will also head into the stands to thank fans for supporting the team in 2025.
