
Doomed Space in Portland, Maine, Will Get Another New Restaurant
If you've lived in an area for long enough, you come to realize that there are certain pockets of any given city where things just don't seem to work out.
A lot of times that pertains to businesses. There just doesn't seem to be anything that can stick at a certain location, no matter how well-run the business actually is.
Portland, Maine, has a few of those spots. Residents and visitors have seen shops and restaurants come and go, each one hoping to find the right path that the others could not. And it's about to happen again.
Volcano Restaurant in Portland, Maine, Has Closed Permanently
You may have missed it because it didn't stick around for long but a restaurant located near Stacks Pancake Co. and the Ramada Inn in Portland, Maine, has officially closed down.
That would be Volcano Restaurant Bar and Grille. Despite having glowing reviews on Google and Yelp, the restaurant simply couldn't draw in enough foot traffic regularly to make it viable. Volcano restaurant had replaced Seasons Bar and Grille which also had a run in the space.
Zero Bar & Grille Set to Open in Portland, Maine, Replacing Volcano
A restaurant called Zero Bar and Grille is planning to open 155 Riverside Street in Portland. According to Portland Food Map, it will be owned and operated by a former employee of Seasons Bar and Grille.
The restaurant plans to serve straightforward pub fare while including an entertainment schedule as well. The Ramada Inn is a pet-friendly hotel, so the restaurant also plans to offer up "doggie bags" as part of its regular menu.
Zero Bar and Grille hopes to open early this summer.
