There’s something special about a good slice of pizza.
Sure, some might argue that lactose intolerance or veganism could stand in the way, but honestly, who can resist that cheesy goodness?
I’ll admit, I eat pizza more than I probably should—but let’s not dwell on that. Whether it’s from a chain, homemade, or straight from the freezer, pizza’s always a win.
But if we’re talking preferences, nothing beats fresh, local New York-style pizza.

For a while, there was a pizza-shaped hole in Portland, Maine's Old Port, with spots like Bill’s Pizza and Old Port Slice Bar gone.

It felt like an eternity without a quality slice nearby.
But then Josh Miranda, the guy behind Portland favorites like Blyth & Burrows, Via Vecchia, Papi Portland and Henry's Public House has stepped up.
Teaming up with Mark Hibbard and Mitchell Ryan of Via Vecchia, he opened Off-Track Pizza on Exchange Street, and it’s exactly what the Old Port needed.

I’ve been to Off-Track Pizza three times now, and it’s quickly become my go-to. Thin crust, perfectly thick cut pepperoni, and flavor that’ll make you want to keep eating long after you’re full.

I haven’t ventured beyond their classic pepperoni yet, but everything on the menu looks amazing. Plus, the last two times I grabbed a whole pie, it was fresh out of the oven, piping hot, and begging to be devoured.
